Learning Nerd’s Diary #10 👪

Hi folks!

Welcome back to the the Learning Nerd’s Diary.

Was back in office this week and it’s been quite a rollercoaster (Scroll down to the end of the post). I got the whole weekend to myself, so I’m actually getting around to writing this on Sunday evening after a really long time.

Also on a completely unrelated note, this was my favourite video call this week!

Encouragement is Underrated

I grew up in a family that’s fairly encouraging about anything. Want to pursue you career in design? Go for it. Want to leave your job? Go for it.

This week on numerous occasions, different people reached out to me complimenting me on the blog and website. These messages though a pleasant surprise, caught me off guard completely. It felt really good, to be acknowledged for something I’m doing. It made me think how I don’t do it often enough for people - just message someone and tell them how you much I love what they’re doing.

Coolest Things I Learnt This Week

Sober Trip: My sleep cycle has been really all over the place these past few weeks, so this week really made an effort to fix that. I tried to start my day early and get up at 6am. Moderately succeeded, my score is 3/6 days and I’m not complaining.

What I really love about getting up early is the silence. No traffic, no notifications and most importantly - no conversations. Don’t get me wrong, I love talking to people just not before I eat my breakfast.

Pick your habits: I am a productivity junkie. I try to squeeze in every second of every day by making elaborate to-do lists and planning stuff on my calendar. Life however, mostly has other plans. I know I can’t do it all.

Came across this earlier this week. Just putting it here as a reminder to myself -

Pyjama Party: This Friday I stayed over at a friend’s house. We did all the sleepover-y things possible - stuffed our faces, ate lots of dessert, laughed till our stomach’s hurt and talked till 2am. Something I did after very long.

That evening I felt like a 7 year old at my cousin’s house! It’s amazing how some experiences have the power to transport to you to a different era. What are those for you?
