Learning Nerd’s Diary #16 😫
Hi folks!
Welcome back to the the Learning Nerd’s Diary.
It’s been a world wind of a week! With lot’s happening both personally & professionally. Apologies for the delay in publishing, this is how I felt for a majority of the week -
Learning for the <REAL> World
Starting on a happier note, Ragini & I are back with the second edition of our workshop - Learning for the <REAL> World! In our experiences as learning experience designers, we’ve found that learning ends up being extremely theoretical and removed from reality. The workshop is an attempt to unpack our experience in creating real world learning and create a community around the same.

Coolest Things I Learnt This Week
Creative Play: My professional life has taught me the that the biggest differences between being a design learner and design professional is play. Design school encourages learners to think out of the box, imagine things, build with your hands. It exposes you to what I like to call Creative Play. Creative professionals of any kind are fuelled by Creative Play. This is also partly why so many of us end up feeling burnt out.

Feedback & Friendships: Last Friday was my last day at Openhouse. I spent the last week doing 1-1 conversations with folks and came out of each one of them left me introspective and with food for thought. I very much feel like a different person than what I was a year back. The amount I have learnt and grown thanks to the people seems unreal and something I’m truly grateful for.
A lot of my colleagues ended up asking me how I’m feeling in the last couple of days. I didn’t have an answer, it was something that hadn’t sunk in yet, I don’t think it still has. I often say leaving organisations is similar to break-ups - even in the best of cases its bittersweet. So I guess that’s it - a pinch of nostalgia, a bunch of optimism, a glimmer of excitement and a boatload of memories.
A Shuffle shaped hole in my heart: Shuffle passed away peacefully on 26th September. They say it takes a village to raise a child - evident from the outpour of messages we have been receiving this past month and since Sunday.
I have been dreaming about him these past few nights. It makes me miss him a lot more, but seeing him enjoy good food, run and play around and get his paws rubbed endlessly makes me happy. Love you chotu.
That's it for this week folks, see you around!
What a beauty!
